In 1967, an innovative development emerged, offering 624 middle to moderate income simplex and duplex apartments in the heart of Harlem. This groundbreaking project, situated along the East River, defied conventional urban housing norms of its era, both in its layout and architectural design. It maximized its prime location by strategically positioning the buildings, granting access to stunning river views. Upper Fifth Avenue gained a vibrant street presence through integrated commercial and retail spaces along its edges, seamlessly blending the development into the neighborhood.
